Chomolhari (7316M) is the second highest and holy mountain of  Bhutanese people. Trekking to the base camp of this holy mountain is the superb short trek for strong walkers, adventure and nature lovers to explore in the most beautiful and unspoiled walking tours which  offers magnificent views of the mountains including Chomolhari, Jitchu Draake and Tsheringkhang etc. In addition to this, the trek introduces the  remote villages’ people their culture and lifestyle. Day 03:Trek to Sharna (2800 Meters) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.

Day 04:Trek to Thangkthanka (3520 Meters) about 8 hours. Overnight at Camp.

Day 05: Trek to Jangothang (4040 Meters) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.

Day 06: Rest day at Jangothang. Overnight at Camp.

Day 07: Cross Nyile La Pass to Lingshi (4150 Meters ) about 7 hours. Overnight at Camp.

Day 08: Cross Yalila Pass (4930M) to Shodu (4080 Meters ) about 8 hours. Overnight at Camp.

Day 09: Trek to Barshong (3710 Meters ) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.

Day 10: Trek to Dolamkencho (3320 Meters ) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.

Day 11:Trek to Dodena (4140 Meters) about 4 hours and drive to Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12:Sightseeing in the capital city of Bhutan- Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13:Drive to Punakha about 3 hours via Dochula Pass and sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 14: Drive to Paro via Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15:Departure at Paro International Airport.

Detail Itinerary

Day 01Arrive Paro 2280 meters. Overnight at Hotel.Our airport representative will receive you from Paro International Airport. You will drive to the Hotel. After lunch, you will visit the places like the Drukgyal Dzong and Kichu Lhakhang, built in 659 A.D by the Tibetan king Srongsen Gampo. Our guide will brief you in details about the places. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

Day 02Sightseeing in Paro. Overnight at Hotel. The wonderful sightseeing in Paro includes the places like the spectacular Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) monastery , Satsam Chorten, Ta Dzong (built in1656 and renovated in 1968), an ancient watchtower, which now houses the Nationa Museum and Paro Rimpung. Our guide will brief about the cultural and historical aspects the places during the tour. Dinner and overnight at Hotel.

Day 03Trek to Sharna (2800 Meters) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.We start trek at Drukgyel Dzong. We set up the camp at Sharna crossing the farm houses and small settlement. The camp is situated at 2800 Meters above the sea level. We will walk about 6 hours and cross the distance of 17 KM today. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 04Trek to Thangkthanka (3520 Meters) about 8 hours. Overnight at Camp.The trek starts with upriver and continue crossing rhododendron and blue pine forest. We will see some wild animals at Jigme Dorji National Park and continue to trek. We walk about 8 hours and cross the distance of 22 KM today. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 05 Trek to Jangothang (4040 Meters) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.We continue trek after breakfast to Jangothang crossing Tengethang, winder home for yak herders. The camp is situated at 4040 Meters above the sea level. We will walk about 6 hours and cross the distance of 19 KM today. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 06 Rest day at Jangothang. Overnight at Camp.Today is the rest day for acclimatization. You have option for hiking and fishing for today. You have different option for today like hiking to Chomolhari Glacier abou 5 hours or hiking to Jichu Drake Glacier about 5 hours or hiking to the mountain (5200 M) between Chomolhari and Jichu Drake about 8 hours. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 07 Cross Nyile La Pass to Lingshi (4150 Meters ) about 7 hours. Overnight at Camp.Today is the day of crossing the first pass among the major passes in this trek. We cross the Nyile La Pass at 4890 Meters. We continue to trek four hours after the pass. We camp at the altitude of 4150 M. We will walk about 7 hours and cross the distance of 20 KM today. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 08 Cross Yalila Pass (4930M) to Shodu (4080 Meters ) about 8 hours. Overnight at Camp.Our trek continues after crossing Yalila Pass (4930 M) to Shodu- where we camp and spend the night. Our camp is situated at the altitude of 4080 M. We will walk about 8 hours and cross the distance of 22 Km today. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 09 Trek to Barshong (3710 Meters ) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.The trails covers the places like Thimpu river, forest of rhododendron and juniper. Our Our camp is situated at the altitude of 3710 M. We will walk about 6 hours and cross the distance of 16 KM today. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 10 Trek to Dolamkencho (3320 Meters ) about 6 hours. Overnight at Camp.Our camp is situated at the altitude of 3320 M. We will walk about 6 hours and cross the distance of 15 KM today. Overnight at Tented Camp.

Day 11Trek to Dodena (4140 Meters) about 4 hours and drive to Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.The trek ends at Dodena from where we drive to Thimpu. We will walk about 4 hours and cross the distance of 8 KM in trek today. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 12Sightseeing in the capital city of Bhutan- Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.Sightseeing in the capital city of Bhutan includes the places like National Memorial Chorten (1974), the National Library, stocked with ancient Buddhist manuscripts, and the Painting School, the Handicrafts Emporium followed by shopping for souvenirs in the shops of Thimphu, visit to the Tashichho Dzong, seat of the national government and the Central Monastic Body. Our guide will brief about the places and time for lunch and breakfast. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 13Drive to Punakha about 3 hours via Dochula Pass and sightseeing. Overnight at Hotel.On the way drive to Punakha we stop at Dochula pass to view Higher Himalayas. Lunch at Punakha. After lunch, visit Punakha Dzong built in 1637 situated between Pho Chu (Male river) and Mo Chu (Female river), visit Chime Lhakhang, “the Temple of Fertility”. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 14 Drive to Paro via Thimpu. Overnight at Hotel.After breakfast, drive to Paro via Thimphu. Lunch at Thimphu. Afternoon, free for shopping. In the evening, drive to Paro. Overnight at Hotel.

Day 15Departure at Paro International Airport.We will transfer to Paro International Airport for you onward destination. You can continue the trip to Nepal for the more adventurous trekking, wildlife adventure, white water rafting, adventure sports, cultural tours and many more activities.
