This day you will be introduced with your tour and trekking guide and complete some formalities before starting sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. You will visit four popular places in Kathmandu Valley - Monkey Temple – Swyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath.
After breakfast, around 7:30 am we drive to Sundarijal (1350m) by private vehicle and trek to Chisapani (2300m). The trail will enter through the Shivapuri Wildlife Reserve youngest National park of Nepal. The first settlement, we will come across is Mulkharka with Tamang habitats. The route heads up the ridge through a forest of oaks and rhododendron to Chisapani.
After breakfast, we start our trekking to Kutumsang that continues trail crossing grassy meadows and fields. You will then descend through Pati Bhanjyang till Gulfu Bhanjyang. The trail climbs the ridge from Gulfu Bhanjyang to another pass. The prairie makes a good camping spot, its downhill to Kutumsang.
Today we trek to Tharepati which climbs above Kutumsang on a steep, narrow trail mostly through bamboo and rhododendron forest where there are no permanent settlements. After the six-hour walk, you will reach in Tharepati.
The early part of the trek descends until you cross the Melamchi stream. You trek gently up to Tarkeghyang passing through Sherpa settlements. Tarkeghyang is a beautiful Sherpa village with one of the oldest and biggest monasteries.
Today the trail is quite easy through flat land with beautiful forests on the way. You trek on crossing some small streams on the way. Situated in a beautiful village on the halfway to Shermathang, another attractive Sherpa village where you can visit many ancient monasteries. Jugal Himal range can also be seen from the north face of Shermathang village.
The trail gradually descends all the way to Melamchi Bazaar Pul through prairie and cultivated fields. Along the way, we can see several old villages with their own particular traditions. Today is a quite pleasant to walk with mountain views and the possibility of interacting with the friendly locals.
Today, the scenic drive back to Kathmandu passing through different natural treasures will be interesting. You will be taken for a farewell dinner at a typical Nepalese restaurant with a cultural show in the evening.
