Langtang Gosaikunda Trek Detail Itinerary

This day you will be introduced with your tour and trekking guide and complete some formalities before starting sightseeing around Kathmandu valley. You will visit four popular places in Kathmandu Valley - Monkey Temple – Swyambhunath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Boudhanath, and Pashupatinath.

Today we drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi which takes about 7/8 hours by public bus. We Driving through scenic foothills and ridgeline vistas to Syprubesi passing Trisuli Bazaar, Kalikastan, and Dhunche, we’ll get a glimpse of Ganesh Himal after driving along the mighty Trishuli River. Terraced green hills, farmland and lush forests make the drive very pleasurable.

The trail begins with crossing the Bhote Koshi River and follows the Langtang Khola. This trail gradually ascends up to Bamboo (1,960 m) passing rugged paths with thick forest. Afterward, climbs gently to Rimche (2,400 m) through Bamboo forest which lies at the bank of Langtang Khola.

Today we will walk through rhododendron forest the trail takes you to Ghoda Tabela which literally means the Horse Stable. After this, the trail climbs gradually to the beautiful valley of Thangshap village where we can get delicious Yak yogurt. After Lunch, we continue our trek to Langtang village, a typical village and one of the oldest along this trekking route. The views of the mountains are spectacular and become more imposing as well trek closer.

Today we have a short walk, but adequate for acclimatizing. There are some interesting things to explore, especially the famous cheese factory – don’t forget to try some locally produced cheese as fresh as it could get. This beautiful valley is on the lap of the Langtang Himal. This is the spot where we can explore the valley and climbs several small peaks like Cherko-Ri.

Today early morning we hike to Cherko Ri after then you can visit the monastery and the cheese factory, walk up the moraine to see the spectacular ice faces, lakes and tumbling glaciers of Langtang Lirung and ascend to Kyangin Ri (4,350 m) which is the highest point of this trek, directly behind the village, for a breathtaking panorama views of the Langtang peaks. After exploring around Kyangin Ri, we will be heading back to Langtang Valley.

Today we trek back to Lama Hotel. During your descend return to Lama Hotel, you can observe the beauty of great mountains and also other natural gems.

First trail descent to the river, cross the river and ascend to Thulo Sypru. From this place, you will see the fascinating view of Langtang Himal and more. On the way of your trek, you will pass through pine and Junipers forests.

Today, after breakfast, you take the broad trail climbing up to Dimsa village and the trial continues through rhododendron, hemlock and Oak forests to Shin Gumba. On the way, you will see fantastic views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Paldor peak and Langtang valley. After five hours of hike, you will reach Chandanbari which is another popular place for Cheese factory where we spend a night.

Early in the morning, we continue our trek towards Laurebinayak. The top of Laurebinayak gives you an exotic feeling. With a steep ascent, all the way following a rugged trail with dramatic views to the Manaslu range, Ganesh Himal range, Tibetan peaks, and Langtang Lirung leads to Gosaikunda. On a clear day, even the Annapurna Massif can be seen rising up behind and to the north also across the valley is Langtang Lirung. You pass with a few huts in the high pasture of Laurebinayak, cross a small ridge and have your first views of the holy lake of Gosaikunda.

After exploring around Gosaikunda Lake, we follow the trail to Dhunche. Early in the morning heading forward accompanied by the natural treasures the day will be offering with lots of interesting scenery.

Today, the scenic drive back to Kathmandu passing through different natural treasures will be interesting. You will be taken for a farewell dinner at a typical Nepalese restaurant with a cultural show in the evening.
